Our community
At its heart, the Recovery Centre is about helping people to find the things they need without having to spend lots of money. At the same time we prevent huge quantities of unwanted items going to landfill: products and commodities – stuff that would eventually break down and release greenhouse gases.
The Recovery Centre is a bit like a clearing house. If you don’t need an item anymore, but you know it's just too good to throw away, we can accept it, and sell it to someone else who really needs it, or to someone who has just wanted one of those for ages! But the Recovery Centre is more than a re-use centre. In tough economic times businesses and people rely more and more on cost-effective ways to get by, and finding support from within our local community is crucial. The Recovery Centre is a ‘hub’ of regional community activity. We support our neighbors through community sponsorship and education, and provide advice and assistance to those who need it most. Some of the organisations that Recovery (Tas) Pty Ltd assisted · Southern Waste Management Association · Glenorchy City Council · Good Start Early Learning Centres · Amnesty International, Tasmania branch · Hobart Womens’ Shelter · Gagebrook Primary School · Rosetta Primary School Please email us if your community group or organization would like sponsorship, donations or discounts. |
